Jewelry that is Waterproof, Sweatproof, and Tarnish-Free
For those who are looking for jewelry options with minimal maintenance, can be worn everyday, and is life-proof (waterproof, sweatproof, tarnish-free, hypoallergenic), there are a couple different options.

 

 

Jewelry material types that require the least amount of care include: 

 

Stainless Steel - ideal for everyday wear, does not require much caretaking

  3. Platinum: Platinum is a precious metal that is known for its durability and resistance to tarnish. It is one of the rarest and most valuable metals, making it a premium option for jewelry. Platinum is also completely hypoallergenic, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin.

  4. Gold: Gold is a precious metal that is resistant to tarnish. The pureness of gold content can range from 10K - 24K, with 24K being pure solid gold, and any of the lower numbers usually a gold alloy with another metal. While gold does not tarnish, it can still be affected by sweat, which may cause it to lose its shine over time or accumulate dirt and grime. For those with an active lifestyle (e.g., equestrians), it is never a good idea to wear jewelry that is flowy or dangly, since the risks of jewelry getting caught on equipment is high.  If you want to wear earrings, opt for small studs, small hoop earrings, and avoid dangly earrings. As for chain necklaces, anything with a shorter chain (e.g., choker length) that can easily be tucked away under a shirt would be the safest option. Bangles or chain bracelets should fit snugly to avoid getting caught on items around the barn.
